What is a PraiseMoves Fitness Class?
PraiseMoves Classes combine a light aerobic warm up, with up-lifting, inspirational music; followed by deep, gentle, effective, yet challenging, stretching, with gentle “postures”.
PraiseMoves Postures are combined with strong scriptural references to achieve stress relief, greater flexibility, while strengthening the core, progressive weight loss, over-all wellness in mind, body, and spirit.
Classes end with a prayer and mediation/relaxation time. Combing Christian Faith and Fitness!
PraiseMoves Postures are integrated with corresponding bible scriptures to strengthen faith, and to hold each posture for 3-5 seconds to achieve increased muscle tone and strength.
PraiseMoves classes are for all levels of fitness, from beginner to advanced. For all ages youth-seniors. (a “mature” 10 years old and up preferred)
Although you will see similar “postures”, as used in typical Western Yoga Classes, We do not consider PraiseMoves “Christian Yoga,” because the term “Yoga” is deeply seeded in the Hindu Faith. Because we are “Faith Based,” PraiseMoves is different than Yoga, because it is based on Christianity, which is why we call it “The Christian Alternative to Yoga.”
We believe the overall physical, emotional, and spiritual, benefits are good for everyone! All are welcome, no matter what background, faith, or personal beliefs.
Who is the Instructor?
Roxanne Moore was recently certified in June, 2016. She has been teaching PraiseMoves Classes 4 times a week at her local church, Living Hope of Medina, OH. She became a Certified PraiseMoves Instructor (CPI) because she enjoys combining her faith with fitness. She believes to be completely fit, one must “focus on mind, body, and spirit.”
She also suffers from a recent back injury, which lead her to strengthen her core through a less aggressive form of exercise; in order to avoid back surgery. She has personally experienced many physical benefits from the gentle, yet challenging postures, which are used in PraiseMoves classes. This has increased healing and wellness in her mind, body, and spirit, overall.
The physical, mental, and spiritual, benefits include: lasting relief from back pain, better posture, improved muscle tone, increased flexibility, strength, and better breathing by focusing on deep-diaphragmatic breathing, strong scriptural memorization, stress relief, and deep mediation of her faith.
